Scientists and Engineers in the Classroom

Praxis has a resource of Scientists and Engineers in areas applicable to all grade levels. These include: dinosaurs, bridge design, computers and robotics; just to name a few.

Our volunteers are experts in their particular area and are very willing to come in and show your students the connection between what they are learning in the class and the "real" world. Through this interaction, many students are better able to see the real life connection between science and the classroom. One thing is for sure, all of the volunteers are eager to be involved in the educational community.

Give us a call, book online or fax in your request and we will match you up!

The purpose of Operation Thoth is to develop an understanding in boys of the importance of completing science and math courses in high school for achieving careers in these areas. The conference involves job shadowing with male role models, innovative workshops/displays, and formal / informal group discussions.

Science Clubs

Science Clubs offer exciting opportunities for like minded young people to share in their interest as they explore Science.

For example, in the past Praxis has offered opportunities for Lego enthusiasts aged 8 to 12 years to learn about building machines and robots and then programming them. These sessions were offered during regular meetings during the school year and continue in their present form as one of the more popular Medicine Hat College Summer Camp activities.

If you are interested in volunteering to advise a Science Club, please contact us.
